Glutathione peroxidase reduces lipid hydroperoxides. The top molecule is a lipid peroxyl radical, an example of a ROS, which gets reduced by vitamin E. Then, the resulting lipid hydroperoxide is further reduced to its corresponding alcohol as glutathione (GSH) gets oxidized (GSSG).
