I am currently a program coordinator with the Science & Health Education Partnership at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to my currnet position, I pursued a PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University, studying amyloid biophysics in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Miranker and following my graduate studies, I spent a brief time working as a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of . During my time at Yale, I developed an interest in science education while volunteering to teach hands-on science lessons in a 2nd grade classroom with his research colleagues. I decided to further pursue opportunities in education by becoming an Oakland Teaching Fellow, teaching 6th and 7th grade science at Bret Harte Middle School in Oakland, California. As a full-time teacher, I gained experience teaching a diverse group of students including English language learners and students with special needs in an urban public school setting. This past year, I was the lead coordinator on the Students Modeling A Research Topic (SMART) team program at SEP. Our students will be posting Proteopedia pages for their SMART team programs.
