I am a biology major attending Stony Brook University. I am currently taking BIO 487, an upper division research class in molecular, cellular and developmental biology. The program is dubbed Protein Explorations in Preparation for Authentic Research Experiences(PREPARE). It gives students a spring board into the research laboratory world via connections and introductions to Private Investigators and labs. We learn about molecular modeling and at the end of the semester we will have built a 3-D molecular model as well as our own Proteopedia page.
