  • 1980-1985 experience in a molecular biology (Stefano Ferrari's) laboratory, at the University of Modena.
  • 1985-1988: PhD student (University of Modena); 19.6.1989 PhD in Biochemistry.
  • Beginning November 1992 tenure position of Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Modena (Faculty of Pharmacy)

  • 15.2.1985 - 30.6.1987 Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Pathology (Laboratory of Renato Baserga), Temple University Medical School, Philadelphia, U.S.A.

  • 26.3.1984 - 14.2.1985: Recipient of a fellowship of UILDM (Italian Union for the Fight Against Muscolar Dystrophy) at the Institute of Biological Chemistry, University of Modena.

  • Scientific Activity.
  • The scientific activity can be summarized in the following main issues:
  • 1) Polarographic studies on sulphonamides and metal-aminoacid complexes.
  • 2) Studies on protein synthesis in hypertrophic miocardium.
  • 3) Characterization and expression of genes related to the cell cycle.
  • 4) Structure and regulation of expression of the genes encoding for chicken Apolipoprotein A-I and Calbindin D28K.
  • 5) Studies on the functional roles of the protein Calbindin D28K in the central nervous system of the mammals using transgenic mice.
  • 6) Studies on transcription factors involved in muscle differentiation during embryonal development.
  • 7) Studies concerning the development of a chimeric protein as a biotechnological tool for the therapy of Familal Hypercholesterolemia.
