Biochemistry Protein Structure Tutorials
These tutorials are meant to give you an introduction to amino acids and peptides, their structures and the structures they adopt. I recommend starting with the first and working your way through in order.
The first tutorial will introduce you to the amino acids, how they are represented and how they are connected (their primary structure). You will practice recognizing them and using their names and one-letter codes. There are two pages to this tutorial.
The second tutorial introduces you to the secondary structures that peptides adopt - specifically α-helices and β-sheets. This tutorial has two pages as well.
As you finish each tutorial, you will be asked to write down several pieces of information. Those answers will be submitted to your instructor as they have indicated.
