Hi Laura,

I added your bio back to your user page. I hope you don't mind. It's an informal policy at Proteopedia to have a short bio on each user page. Also, I was wondering if you knew the copyrights on the images that you added to the GFP page you're working on. We can only add images to Proteopedia whose copyrights allow it. For instance, images from scientific journals are usually under a copyright that prohibits adding them to Proteopedia, unless the journal is "Open Access" or unless you receive special permission from the publisher. Also, images from websites are usually under a copyright unless the website says you can use its images. You can write me back by editing my user talk page at User_talk:Eran Hodis.

Hi Laura,

Based on the link that you added to the GFP mice photo, that photo is considered public information, and thus is okay to have in Proteopedia. I found that out by visiting the site that you linked and then clicking on the disclaimer link http://www.nichd.nih.gov/disclaimer.cfm where point number 3 satisfies our copyright questions. The second picture Image:Spectra.gif, however, is taken from a lab's website, and there is no notice describing whether or not we are allowed to use the image elsewhere, therefore we are not allowed to re-use the image. I have deleted that image from Proteopedia. If you do obtain permission for its reuse from the copyright holder, then feel free to re-upload it. I know that it would be much more convenient if we could use whichever images we pleased, but unfortunately we cannot. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks Eran! Not a problem. I took off the other image I had had on my page of GFP-expressing E. coli, but I didn't know how to delete it from Proteopedia. That one was originally from a 1994 publication (which I didn't realize), so we can't use that one either. Sorry to be causing havoc for you, haha.
