[[Ribosomal protein S2]] (RPS2) is one of the 21 proteins which belong to the 30S <scene name='Ribosomal_protein_S2/Cv/1'>small subunit</scene> of the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacteria bacterial] [[ribosome]] or the 30 proteins which belong to the 40S small subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome. Its N-terminal is rich in Arg-Gly repeats and has two RGGF copies which are believed to be associated with nuclear localization and binding to RNA. In archaea the protein is called S2P (RPS2P).
