NF-Y Transcription Factor

NF-Y transcription factor has three subunits composed of NF-YA, NF-YB, and NFY-C alpha helices. NF-YA subunit binds to both NF-YB and NF-YC subunits. The C terminal of the NF-YA subunit inserts deep into the minor groove of DNA while the N terminal A1 helix of the NF-YA subunit interacts with NF-YB and NF-YC subunits. NF-YA A2 helix binds to the box and causes the minor groove to widen at the CCAAT box. An important residue in the catalytic site is .
