Diphtheria toxin

Diphtheria Toxin is an exotoxin produced by the organism Corynebcterium diphtheria which has been infected by a bacteriophage that contains the Diphtheria toxin gene. It attacks and kills eukaryotic cells by inactivating the Elongation factor (EF-2) in translation.
